Here are three recipes for different kinds of smoothie bowls, perfect for the summer!! Smoothie bowls can be eaten at any time of day, and are a perfect way to pack in all your nutrients! You can mix them up however you want, these are just three of my favourites.

Here are some tips to make sure you are making them as eco-friendly as possible, you don’t need to follow all of them, but implement them as you go with what is most feasible for you.

  1. Buy your own fruit and veg, cut it up and freeze it / or bulk buy it unpackaged

  2. Buy local produce

  3. Make your own vegan milk

  4. Make your own granola (check my latest post on how to make homemade milk and granola)

To make a smoothie bowl like consistency, add around 1/4 cup of milk to the blender to start off. As you blend, take pauses to push the ingredients down with a spoon. If needed, add a bit more milk as you go.

1.) Berry Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup mix frozen berries (I used cranberries, black berries, strawberries & blueberries)

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 2 pieces of frozen cauliflower

  • 1/4 cup of vegan milk

  • Chocolate protein powder (optional)

Toppings:

  • Chia seeds

  • Coconut flakes

  • Puffed wheat/granola

  • Fruit of your choice ( I chose blueberries)

  • Nut butter (I chose peanut)

2.) Green Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen mango

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries

  • 2 pieces of frozen cauliflower

  • 1/2 cup kale/spinach (spinach blends better)

  • 1 teaspoon barley grass powder (optional)

  • 1 date or any sweetener such as maple syrup or agave

  • 1/4 cup of milk

Toppings:

  • Mango

  • Kiwi

  • Coconut flakes

  • Chia seeds

  • If you want you can also add puffed wheat/granola

3.) Tropical Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup frozen mango

  • 1/2 cup frozen papaya

  • few pieces of frozen kiwi

  • 1/2 a frozen banana

  • 2 pieces of frozen cauliflower

  • 1/4 cup of milk

Toppings:

  • Granola (I use my homemade one from my last post)

  • Kiwi

  • Passionfruit

  • Coconut flakes

  • Chia seeds

There are so many more variations, so as you make them you can tailor it to your liking! If there are any you would like me to try or any other recipes, let me know!
